Auto Biography

Born and raised in Essex Junction Vermont, I attended the public school system through high school. I was surrounded with art throughout childhood as my mother was an artist. Unfortunately, she passed away when I was seven years old. However, art was in my genes and I leaned heavily toward the right-brained side of my education. I attended colleges in Vermont after graduating high school and studied under well known professors such as Warren Kimble and Dr. Larry Jenson.

Later, I accepted work from I.B.M. and worked as a technician for 15 years. I always continued to create and show my Art work. I took an early retirement in order to complete my art education and build an art career.

I moved to Maine and attended the University of Southern Maine studying sculpture under Michael Shaughnessy, Duncan Hewitt and George Burk. I received the coveted "sculptor of the year" award my senior year.

My art has an outdoor flavor as I grew up hunting and fishing with my family. While I mostly do plein air, I also do studio work and paint with a group of artists weekly.

I employ a painterly style and consider myself a colorist. I apply compositional and color rules to obtain my results; Color and value all come into play on the paper or canvas in each of my paintings.

I have attended many shows over the years and have received numerous awards, recognitions and ribbons for my work. Prints are available of all my work!
