Most of my paintings are done plein air, except the wildlife paintings...wildlife won't stick around long enough for me to capture them in their settings.I use refference photos I've gathered over the years.Being legally blind( I paint using limited periffrial eye sight) i find it difficult to get around other then near my home, and what I can reach with my four wheeler. I take photos as they present themselves in the wild.Some of my paintings are composed of plein air and refference photos to completion in the studio..Prints are available from Fine Art America of my works.I hope to have one of my works hanging in your home, studio or business. Growing up in Vermont was the Best of both worlds...urban and country living all at once.I was raised to hunt with my brothers and sisters as sport and food...mostly food. You ate what you shot.I would fish spring and summer taking note of wildlife as the year progressed.I have many photos of wildlife and obtained some from friends over the years. I enjoy painting wild life as much as painting landscapes and potraiture.Please feel free to comment on my work. I paint in a very disstinguising painterly fashion. Realism I enjoy in photographic form and feel I could frame and hang them accordingly on the wall. My art contains parts of myself in every work....enjoy!!
Portraits have always come natural to me. People I know are a little more difficult, because I tend to want to put too much of their charactor into a single painting, instead of capturing them at a given moment. I enjoy painting portaits in the pastel medium. I show a variety here on my site... most people take their portrait with them when it is completed. I have retained a few of friends and family over the years that remind me of my life and the important people in it.
